How can a DSLR camera move in the ruins of a 19th century mansion that is battered to be covered with glass and steel in the days to come, for that’s a more appropriate image as a shopping mall. How to get up and to do what in the ruins; the scenery of late ones to come? Here, this occurs: there are holes in some walls releasing spectres to haunt which that makes impossible to reach.

Film is basically recordings of ruins of a 19th century Roum (Istanbullu Greeks) mansion and is an experiment (or an experience) on various topics (rather it is a video or a film is one of these topics, i will call it as film in this text.)

But before coming to the explanation of experimentation, first i must say it is formed from an urge to look at ruins of Tarlabasi, which is one of the oldest settlements of Istanbul (which is one of the oldest cities in the world) battered to be turned to a huge shoping mall district. Tarlabasi was essentially a Roum settlement in late Ottoman era and after pogroms of 6-7 september 1955 neighbourhood had been deserted and seizured. Starting from late 50's Tarlabasi had been home to migrants from poor eastern cities searching for wealth of istanbul,

Air, resonance and the sound of first motor in motion. ELECTRICITY! A green land is what's not seen beyond the mist and that's not mist but steam and what's crossing the white is an admirable steam train; and from the highest mountain peek, looking at the misty valley, a proud gentleman, newly awake... and then syncope: for hundred years... and then, when birds cought flu they were sloughtered by hundreds of thousands and thrown to dumpyards. And cows were fed with leftovers from other cows which were previously been eaten, for that their meat grow faster, and when they got sick becouse of cannibalism, they've been named mad and were burned in piles. Napalm for red threat and atomic bomb for yellow; death chambers for Judaism; Franco's tanks for anarchism; German bomb for London; English bomb for Berlin; for ancient Anatolian civilization, the deathly roads to Damascus... Chemical to Halabja, conventional to Baghdad, aerodynamic to Twin Towers, sonic to Kirkuk, digital to Youtube, Africans to America, Communists to Moscow, Algerians parlent Français, refugees stay away. Fasten your seatbelts and move one continent left.


+++ planned to be a scene in the feature length documentary to come: "a rotting utopia"; nikbin sirto has declared independence when it's footage met with sound of stockhausen. after a dense period where it has been rejected from, ten countries, sixteen cities and fifteen festivals; nikbin sirto had it's world premiere at kadıköy kargart. in the screening it had an audience of nine whom two had walked out from the screening. the first one to arrive to screening was inan, he was also the first one to walk out. as he walked out the caretaker irem asked him: "how was the film?", "not a documentary!". irem asked again: "what was it then?"
